BRICS means Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa Study for IBD, an organization for the development of inflammatory bowel diseases.


鈼 To provide a support network for IBD specialists in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa on clinical and basic research together with communication through online and entitative resources.

鈼 To exchange experience and knowledge of in inflammatory bowel diseases with specialists in developed areas over the world.

鈼 To advocate for better access to treatment options for those with inflammatory bowel disease.

鈼 Promotion of joint research on inflammatory bowel diseases in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and activities deemed by the BRICS to be necessary for achieving its purpose.

鈼 To be a not for profit organization and be able to obtain funds or in kind sponsorship to help us provide free and valuable support to users and members.

鈼 To work alongside other like-minded persons and organizations to achieve these goals.

鈼 BRICS IBD Consortium is a non-profit organization.



Members of the BRICS shall cooperate within the organization to achieve its resource, purpose and goals, and shall comprise the following:

鈼 Active members

鈼 Regular members and Y-BRICS (under 35 years old)

鈼 Observation members

Active Members

An active member shall be a membership who shows reputation in the field of IBD in his/her country and elected by the directors (presidents and governing board). The number of active members shall be less than forty persons (Ten persons each from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).

Regular Members and Y-BRICS

A regular member or Y-BRICS (under 35 years old) shall be a membership fee-paying individual from Brazil, Russia, India or China.

Observation Members

An observation member shall be a membership other than Brazil, Russia, India or China that agrees with and supports the purpose of the BRICS.
